Certificate of Computer Aided Design - Part Time
Wih the ever increasing need for computer based design (CAD) technologies, this course will set you up to enter the fashion world. A mandatory skill for anyone wishing to be a clothing or textile designer. The CAD course concentrates on the use and application of Illustrator and Photoshop. Perfect for the learner or those wanting to brush up on their skills.
Classes will be conducted using Fashion Matters CM32, Capron Carter's Style CAD software, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, current computer hardware, full colour laser printers, scanners.
Course Content
- Learning to use CAD for:
- - creating original artwork, storyboards, photo montages
- - manipulating a variety of media
- - retouching photographs
- - illustrations of clothing designs
- - specification drawings/trade sketches
- - textile designing
- - print designs, motifs, repeat prints and yardage prints
- - printing out knit graphs
- - creating yarn dye for checks, stripes and multi-coloured weaves (plaids, houndstooth, tartan)
- - special weave effects
- - printing and saving spot colour separations
- - colour manipulation of fabrics
- - placement prints
- - logos and swing tags.
Assessment
- Completion of set assignments on time and to the required standard.
