Certificate of Textile Printing and Design - Part Time
Create your own t-shirt designs and fabric meterage focusing on screen printing. Progress from simple design prints to more complex, multi-coloured applications. Learn to create garments from samples to mass production.
Course Content
- Principles of textile design.
- Dye methodology.
- Development of repeat format designs using water-based printing inks for yardage production.
- Creation of artwork from various sources.
- Using CAD to create placement and repeat designs.
- Silk screen making from cut stencils to photographic techniques.
- Colour matching from samples to formula mixing methods.
- Printing using large format tables for yardage.
- Placement printing using a t-shirt carousel.
- Sublistatic printing (heat transfer printing).
- Multiple colour separations.
- Exploration of additional printing materials and applications.
- Fabric embellishment and fabric enhancement techniques.
- Knowledge of fabric construction including woven, knitted and bonded.
- Portfolio samples of all techniques learnt in the course.
Assessment
- Completion of set assignments on time and to the required standard.

- Year 12 level preferred
- Ability to draw an advantage, but not essential
